How is it possible that I’ve had these photos for almost four months — one third of a year! — and never shared?

As most of you know, I got my blogging start at Weddingbee, where the bloggers are known as Bees.  Since then I have been quick to notice any design involving bees, and I couldn’t resist when I stumbled across a baby bee outfit on eBay:

Here’s Elsa at the White House Egg Roll last April.

E. was too young to take advantage of most of the Egg Roll activities, but given her get-up, we particularly enjoyed meeting the White House beekeeper.  (Did you know that the Obamas’ new White House garden includes a hive of almost 70,000 bees?  In their first year, they produced over 100 pounds of honey!)

And at a party at the home of the lovely Mrs. D’Orsay.

(I believe those are Mrs. Penguin’s knees in the background …. hi Pengy!)

Other Bees, have you also fallen prey to noticing bees everywhere? Has it ever driven a purchase?

  1. Elsa is so adorable! You wouldn’t recognize the place now – easter egg colors have gone!oh, and to answer your question-yes! all the time with the bee stuff :) I even sent pengy a baby penguin card online and said when/if she has a baby I have to get it for her!

  2. Ha, Christiana, I totally sent Pengy a link to an adorable baby penguin costume as well. Her offspring will be drowning in penguins whenever the time comes!!

  3. I’m not a Bee, but my husband is a pilot and his nickname has to do with the letter "B." His friends always called his house the beehive so now I’m mrs. b and I live in the beehive and am obsessed with all things bee.

  4. Felicity, you’ll have to be sure to add the bee costumes to the list if you ever have a child! Well, maybe just a girl child. Though John Belushi always rocked a pretty good bee costume way back in those famous 1970s SNL skits… ;)

  5. So cute! Can’t wait to meet you in person next week.

  6. Yes!! All the time. A girl at my work has a honeycomb shaped charm on her necklace and I instantly liked her because of that. She's also a really great girl, but the honeycomb drew me in first!
